Customer Story GCC :

Trusted by companies
all over the world:

SeveUp is a data movement platform that automatically connects BIM data and business intelligence. SeveUp extracts, transforms, and loads any kind of data to Power BI dashboards or your own cloud warehouse. By utilizing data to its fullest potential, SeveUp empowers BIM experts, analysts, and project managers to shape the future of the AEC industry and achieve a positive impact through centralized project data management.

Thanks to SeveUp, GCC centralized its diverse data into one place, tracked construction progress in real-time, and optimized resources. GCC gained valuable experience through analyzing the data collected and presented in the interactive dashboard. Teams that previously lacked access to project details experienced improved access and information sharing, leading to enhanced communication and collaboration.

SeveUp's solution not only centralized project data management for GCC but also facilitated real-time monitoring and resource optimization, thereby enhancing project efficiency in the construction sector.

DASHBOARD VISUEL 5D

Centralizing data with real-time updates, creating automated dashboard for projects, simplifying data analysis are key objectives.

  • First, in the construction sector, many companies, including GCC, encounter challenges in project management. This complexity worsens when data from multiple sources is decentralized. Centralized project data management with SeveUp streamlines operations, enhancing efficiency and decision-making.
  • Integrating and centralizing data from specialized software within GCC allows for cross-referencing information, improving decision-making and coordination between different trades. A simple data model facilitates using and interpretating information from expert software, not always accessible to everyone.
  • This simplification makes the data more understandable and usable by all stakeholders, enhancing centralized project data management.

The problem encountered : ANALYZING AND CENTRALIZING DATA FROM DIFFERENT SECTORS OF A PROJECT

Lack of overall visibility

In fact, the absence of centralization makes it difficult to obtain a coherent overview, hindering understanding of its status and progress.

Delayed decision-making

Then, integrating data for analysis causes delays in critical decisions, impacting GCC’s responsiveness and operational efficiency.

Increased risk of errors

Indeed, scattered and poorly integrated data heighten error risks, potentially leading to decisions based on incorrect or incomplete information.

Operational inefficiency

Moreover, manual data gathering, consolidation, and analysis consume additional time and resources, decreasing operational efficiency and increasing costs.

Limited communication and collaboration

Furthermore, centralizing data hampers smooth communication and collaboration among GCC’s teams, affecting project coordination.

Difficulty in issue identication and resolution

Additionnaly, without an integrated view, detecting and resolving problems becomes challenging, potentially causing project delays and increased costs.

However, these challenges, common in the construction sector, prompted GCC to collaborate with SeveUp. The goal was to integrate data tables from existing software and BIM models generated by the SeveUp platform, optimizing project management from inception.

WHAT WE DID

Nevertheless, in this context, GCC has decided to collaborate with SeveUp to integrate the data tables from existing software and the data tables from BIM models (.ifc) generated by the SeveUp platform. The ultimate goal is to better control information to optimize projects right from their inception.

Implementation Steps

  • 1) Definiting Export Formats and Collaboration:
  • First, identifying required formats for each data source and establishing collaborative export processes compatible with dashboard creation.
  • 2) Data Cleaning:
  • Second, developing cleaning and preparation processes for information sources, excluding SeveUp’s BIM data, which is already clean and ready-to-use.
  • 3) Linking Source Files:
  • In addition, using Power BI queries to merge data from various sources, establishing connections, joins, and custom columns to harmonize information.
  • 4) Developing Custom Dashboard Templates:
  • Finally, collaborating with GCC to create dashboards including data cleaning, formula creation, and visualization.

Ultimately, GCC teams quickly mastered Power BI, ensuring reliable, customizable dashboards tailored to project progress tracking needs. Automated dashboard creation via SeveUp facilitated rapid deployment.

WHAT WE ACHIEVED

dashboard of GCC
  • The first succes was, improved Data Analysis: GCC centralized data analysis on a single platform, delivering reliable and fast results.
  • Then: Cost Optimization: Data management costs were reduced by 30% through more efficient resource management
  • Additionnaly, Improved Communication and Collaboration: Team communication and collaboration were enhanced, reducing communication delays by 40%.
  • Achieved More Responsive Decision-Making: Decision-making was accelerated based on reliable data, reducing decision-making time by 25%.
  • Attained Comprehensive and Integrated Visibility: A coherent, real-time overview of projects was obtained, increasing forecast accuracy by 35%.
  • Maintained Control Over Usage: GCC teams quickly and effectively gained expertise in Power BI, enabling them to maintain control over usage and template creation.

In conclusion, the SeveUp solutions used:

  • Project Element Organization by Project
  • Digital Model Parsing
  • Creation of Digital Datasets
  • Management of External Documents
  • Management of Automated Dashboards
